Front Street Winery
Make a special meal even better by finishing off with one or our dessert
wines.  We carry the two Ice Wines at the store at all times  while the
Port and Cream Sherry are available by special order.

Cabernet Franc Ice Wine Style  New to our operation, the flavors
of honey and strawberry that fill this sweet, rich wine make it irresistible.
Firm structure from the Cabernet Franc grapes allows this beautiful
looking blush to have a smooth and elegant finish that hints of spice. A
natural for pairing with rich, dark chocolate desserts.

Riesling Ice Wine Style  A favorite of many sweet wine enthusiasts
this treat will not disappoint.  Intense honey and fruit flavors linger on
the palate. With a finish so long your guests may still taste the
goodness when they arrive home. Serve chilled with a rich, fruit-based
dessert or chocolate truffles.  Enjoy with good company and
conversation.

Port Special ordered and not fortified, this wine is rich and warm with
plum and chocolate flavors.  It is a distinctive wine that pairs well with
walnuts and blue cheese.  Perfect as a ending to your evening.

Cream Sherry  Call ahead to special order this traditional favorite.
With hints of almonds this luscious wine should be served cool not
chilled.  Great with sweet breads and cakes.  If you prefer, we can also
make a dry sherry here at the winery.

body wines are often
accompanied by complex and
lasting flavors. Light  body
wines are thin or watery, but
not necessarily inferior wines.
Body simply refers to a wines
overall nature.

Tannin
Structural components in wine
that effects color and, ageing
potential. Can cause  a drying
sensation in the mouth, similar
to that of a green banana.
Tannins are associated with
red wines and are created
when the yeast interacts with
the grape skins. Overly tannic
wine will mellow with age.

Complex
Refers to wine having many
different flavors and facets.

Refers to how long the flavors
of a wine lasts in the mouth
after drinking.

Refers to wine in which all of
the available sugar has been
fermented into alcohol. Off-dry
refers to a wine that has a hint
of sweetness.

Crisp
A wine that is high in acidity
while  still maintaining
balanced flavors.  These wines
are usually quite refreshing on
the palate.

Balanced
A balanced wine is one in
which no one flavor stands out
too much.

Oak
Wine can have oak add during
fermentation or it can be aged
in oak.  Oak being used can
be American, French,
Hungarian, toasted or
un-toasted.  Most red and
some white wines come into
contact with oak. This contact
will develop flavors of spice,
vanilla and wood in the wine
as well as tannins.
