A MICRO-WINERY SERVING SOUTHWESTERN MICHIGAN AND NORTHWEST INDIANA
Almost twenty years ago, George and Kathy Markham started making
wine.  They quickly discovered the advantages of making wine using
juice and/or concentrate, or kits,  rather than using fresh fruit.  Using
juice allowed for a consistently high quality product, that could be made
anytime of year and at a reasonable price. As they gained more and
more success with their hobby, the Markhams started sharing their wine
with friends and family. Very soon they had others who not only wanted
to enjoy the wine, but also share in the wine making processes.  Based
on that response, the Markhams decided to start a micro-winery where
people could not only purchase wine by the bottle but also come and
make their own wine using the winery's equipment and their expertise.
Once that decision was made a location for their winery had to be
selected.  Having lived in the Dowagiac area for over a decade, it
seemed logical to the Markhams that the historic, downtown section of
the city would be perfect.  They felt the winery would add to the appeal
of the
business section which already boasted wonderful restaurants,
quaint shops and a vibrant atmosphere.

The Markhams also knew that to be successful, they needed to find a
source of high quality wine juice/concentrate.  Our partners at
Winexpert proved to be the answer.  Winexpert's specialists travel the
world collecting high quality juices right at the vineyard.  In fact, wines
made from Winexpert juices have won more awards than wines made
using juice from any other 'kit' manufacturer.  Winexpert selection
allows us to offer our customers over 100 varieties of wines.  So we're
sure   we'll  have something you'll like.

So visit downtown Dowagiac and the Markhams at Front Street
Winery.  They'd love to see you and maybe start you on a new hobby
of your own.
