 Making Wine at the Winery
Here at Front Street our goal is to help everybody become a wine-
maker or vintner.  Whether you have previous wine making experience
or not, we guarantee that with our help, you can make a quality wine.
In fact, we are so sure that you are going to love your wine that we will
take it back and let you try another style if you are not happy.

The first step in the process is to taste some of our wines. With the
help of our staff we will select a wine that will suit your needs and
tastes. With over 100 wines available to be made we're sure we can
find one for you. We always have six wines available for free tasting at
the winery. They change regularly so stop back often.

Once the wine has been selected we will guide you while you get the
juice ready for the addition of the yeast.   When everything is set you
cast the yeast on top of the juice and we wait for fermentation to begin.
Once you have selected your wine it takes approximately 15 minutes
to get it started.   An appointment is not necessary to make wine
although we do recommend making an appointment if there are more
than two batches being made at one time.  We also suggest that if
several  couples plan to taste and mix up more than three batches that
they   book private wine
tasting/making party.

Once mixed, the juice is placed in the temperature controlled
fermenting room.  It will stay here from 4 to 8 weeks.  During this time
staff will rack, stabilize, rack again and monitor your wine.  You are
welcome to stop   by anytime during the fermentation period and check
on your wine's progress

When the wine is finished we will contact you by phone and arrange a
bottling date.  This date is somewhat flexible, however we do need 24
hours notice prior to your bottling date. Each batch yields between 27
and 30 bottles. Bottling takes between 60 and 90 minutes.  Customers
are welcome to use recycled bottles but they must be

*
clean, clean, clean* with labels and glue removed before bringing them
to the winery. (The use of recycled bottles does render our guarantee
void.)  Once here we will show you how to sanitize, fill, cork, label and
finish your bottles of wine.  A custom, private
label can be made for
your wine if you wish.

Now that your wine is bottled it is time to take it home.  Staff at the
winery will provide you with information about cellaring and aging your
wine.    Although all of our wines are drinkable upon bottling most
benefit from some time sitting quietly in their bottle.

Check the links on the right side to learn about our available wines.
Sample as many as six wines at
our wine tasting bar before
selecting a wine to make or
purchase.
We have over 100 wines to
choose from and we always have
at lest 50 varieties on hand at the
winery.
Your wine will spend the next 4 to
6 weeks in our temperature
controlled fermentation room.
You're welcome to stop and check
up on its progress whenever you
would like.
When your wine is ready we will
call you to make an
appointment.  Once here you
will need to clean and sanitize
your bottles
Next you will fill your bottles with
your new wine.
Once you have selected your
wine the next step is to get it
started.  We'll help you
through the entire processes.
Then it is time to cork your
bottle.  Don't worry, we'll
show you how.
Now it is time to take
your wine home and
enjoy.
If you want to have even more fun, get a group of
friends or family together for a wine tasting/making
party. Find out more
